AUTHORS

You can get free exposure on Read Tuesday.

Here is how:

  • Meet the Characters. Give readers a chance to meet one of your characters before they ever see your book. This way, readers won’t be judging your writing by your cover.
  • Cool and New Books. Have a book that doesn’t fit the standard mold? Here is a chance to meet readers who are looking for something fresh and new.

Look for more opportunities coming soon. Follow Read Tuesday (there is a button on our website) to stay tuned.

Give the gift of reading.

  1. Great idea! I did this last year too. By filling out the author submission form does this mean that our books will be publicized from the submission besides our own personal promoting of our books on social media?

    • All books will be included in the Read Tuesday catalog in early December, and we’ll be promoting the event and trying to direct traffic to the catalog when the books are on sale for Read Tuesday. Some books may get additional promotion, starting in November, but I can’t make any guarantees on that at this time.

  2. Hi Chris, I’d love to take part this year with both my books. I will set up the deals tonight and then get back to you to register… it’s a great idea, well done!

  3. Hey, I went to go fill out the form for Smashwords, then I went to Smashwords to generate a coupon, to paste in the space where your form ask for it. The thing is, Smashwords will generate the coupon right now. There is no option to set the date to activate the coupon when I want it to–December 9th-10th–so what do I do now?

    • That’s a good question. One option is to create the discount code now. If you don’t want anyone to use the code early, just don’t share it (we won’t post it on our site until close to the event date). As long as the code still works on the dates that you select, that’s all that really matters.

  4. Hi Chris. I submitted an author form, but it didn’t seem to go anywhere. How will I know if it went through?

  5. Hi Chris, I’ve filled out all the forms for my first book. Amazon wont let me put on a Kindle Countdown for my second book however, as the 90 day period is due to expire on Nov 30th, and the book has to be on KDP Select for 14 days after… even though it is selected to automatically renew! So I prob won’t be able to set it up until the next 90 day period goes live, which starts on Dec 1st… is that too late to be included in Read Tuesday?

  6. Thank you for this brilliant idea! I’ve signed up all my books (at least for Smashwords coupons and Matchbook, which I do all the time; I’m looking into other promotions). I’m looking forward to the whole event, including finding other great books! Will be Facebooking and blogging about it more as the date approaches.

  7. I signed up and entered a Smashwords’ coupon code for Dec. 9th-10th. Now, what can I do to help promote this epic event? I already supported the Thunderclap, btw. I have a blog. Do you have a banner, logo, or any other information I can post about Read Tuesday? I want to help spread the word as best I can.

    • Thank you for participating and for supporting the event. πŸ™‚ You’re welcome to use the Read Tuesday images (e.g. the header or sidebar images on our website) to support the event in a positive way. You’re also welcome to create posts (or share posts) about Read Tuesday. Feel free to promote your own books along with the event. The more we spread the news among readers and other authors, the better for everyone. Thank you. πŸ™‚

  8. Couldn’t complete the form for the amazon.co.uk offer… there is no expanded view under the book image. or do i only need to do it once for both offers, us and uk?

    • That’s my fault. I originally intended to include room for both US and UK info on the Kindle form, but obviously it didn’t turn out that way. I’m surprised nobody asked about this sooner. If you send me the UK info (use the Contact Us form), I’ll find a place to add it in.
