Book Lovers to Enjoy Black Friday Savings in December

August 22, 2014 – Book lovers can enjoy special discounts with a new Black Friday type of event just for books. Read Tuesday, a worldwide online sale discounting hundreds of books, will occur on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.

The event will help to promote literacy and reading, and will enable shoppers on a budget to give presents that will be valued for years to come. Read Tuesday’s slogan says it all: “Give the gift of reading this holiday season.”

Participation in this worldwide event is free to readers, authors, publishers, and booksellers. Participating books and authors can be found on Read Tuesday’s official website,

“For many books, sales are dismal on Black Friday and Cyber Monday because shoppers are too busy buying electronics, toys, tools, and clothes,” says Chris McMullen, the event founder. “I developed the concept of Read Tuesday to give book lovers a special day to enjoy Black Friday savings, where customers won’t be distracted with other major sales events.”

Read Tuesday is an exciting development in holiday shopping, bringing readers, writers, gift-givers, and booksellers together to share the gift of the written word.

Chris McMullen has published over a dozen books, including how-to publishing and marketing guides. He also maintains a blog,, dedicated to providing free tips to help authors with their publishing and marketing needs.
